Mya Audrey is born in Winterthur, Switzerland. She was fascinated by the piano at a very early age and found inspiration in jazz and soul music.
As a teenager she played in several bands, often doubling as a singer. Since she started writing lyrics, Mya sang and composed in English. In 2002, she graduated with a dual major in jazz piano and vocal performance at the renowned University of Arts in Bern, Switzerland.
During her studies, she attended several master classes in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Boston’s Berklee College of Music with Diane Reeves, Dave Liebmann, Benny Golson, Christian McBride, Kenny Baron, The New York Voices and Brad Meldau. She received several awards as a solo artist as well as with the band she led.
Upon completing her studies, Mya worked as a songwriter and co-writer for various productions, in addition to being a freelance performer in bands or as a solo-artist. She worked with talented musicians such as Roland von Voltaire (D), Craig Walker (Archive, UK/IRL), Siri Svegler (SWE), Alina Amuri (CH/COD), Liv Summer (CH), Rayannah (CAN), Lxandra (FIN) among others. She toured and played her original music and as a side woman in various clubs throughout Europe, China and West Australia. Some of her most notable performances included the Olypmic Games 2008, Montreux Jazz Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, Blue Balls Lucerne, Piano Off-Stage Festival Lucerne, Gurtenfestival Bern and the MIDI-Festival in Shanghai and Beijing.
2014, she founded the Songcircle platform for Singer/Songwriters in Berlin.
After a successful start, the platform expanded to Zürich and Vienna.
Mya is based in Berlin, Germany where she plays in several bands and works as a freelance singer and keyboardist and music teacher. As a songwriter Mya Audrey released two albums: „Sudden Breeze“ (2010) on Nation Music and „Wayfaring Trails“ (2014) on Sophie Records (CH) and 22D Music Group (D/F). She’s currently writing new music for her synth pop project DINAH.
